Universal Kids Resort in Frisco is unveiling a long list of attractions. The $550 million resort will include rides and attractions featuring seven distinct areas, mostly based on the company’s properties, including Shrek, SpongeBob and Jurassic World.

The Dallas Business Journal reports that the resort’s central area will feature shaded lawns, interactive play areas and character meet-and-greet experiences, including an immersive retail space featuring Gabby from Gabby’s Dollhouse. A colorful 300-room hotel will serve as the park’s entrance.

While smaller than Universal’s resort in Orlando, Florida, the park could attract 7,500 daily visitors on average day and up to 20,000 on peak days, such as holidays and during summer vacation.

The park is being constructed on a 97-acre site at the northeast corner of the Dallas North Tollway and Panther Creek Parkway. Construction crews began work in 2023, with the goal of opening to the public in 2026. The development team includes general contractor Balfour Beatty and architect Gensler.
