H-E-B has opened a new 100,000-square-foot e-commerce fulfillment center. The center aims to provide customers with more efficient curbside and home delivery services, which have seen an uptick in demand.
The Houston Business Journal reports a public filing indicated the center was at 4520 Holmes Road.
The fulfillment center will stock goods the store normally carries and use various forms of automation to help its employees fulfill online orders.
The new facility marks H-E-B’s third e-commerce fulfillment center in Houston and the ninth the company has opened in Texas since 2018. The facility was expected to cost $16 million to build. Pb2 Architecture and Engineering is listed as the design firm.
H-E-B opened a 128,000-square-foot grocery store at 20017 Bridgeland Creek Parkway in Cypress in October. That store anchors the 23-acre first phase of Village Green at Bridgeland Central, which is part of the 925-acre urban core of the 11,500-acre Bridgeland master-planned community.
The Bridgeland store marked the company’s 96th Houston-area location.
