1003 Athletic Performance Coordinator - San Diego, CA

Our Client is currently seeking top candidates for the position of Athletic Performance Coordinator.  The coordinator is responsible for assisting with the Team's performance and medical systems while leading the day-to-day performance training.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for creating an optimal training environment that allows talent to thrive
  • Develop and implement athletic performance training programs that are science-based, efficient, productive, positive, and fun
  • Coach, educate, and counsel athletes and staff in all aspects of performance in a way that positively influences their lives
  • Gather, manage, analyze and present physiological monitoring and performance testing data
  • Responsible for carrying out administrative tasks consistent with policies and procedures of the NBA, D-League
  • Maintain good attendance and punctuality
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • A degree in Sports Science (e.g. exercise physiology, biomechanics, motor learning) or related area (athletic training, physical therapy). Specialization in human performance is required
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is required
  • Candidate must show a relentless pursuit of progress in the field of athletic performance training
  • Experience working within and communicating with a comprehensive medical and performance team is preferred
  • Background in movement training and methodology is preferred
  • Expertise in applied sports science technologies is preferred
  • A strong background in fitness/strength programming, player preparation, injury prevention, recovery methods and nutrition strategies is preferred
  • Strong knowledge base for amateur and professional basketball is preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and talent for communicating (written and verbal) clear, effective, and creative messages with a variety of different constituencies
  • Strong organizational skills with focus on detailed outcomes
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Must be able to work long hours on short notice including weekends and nights - extensive travel involved

This is a full-time position reporting to the Director of Medical Services with direct supervision from the Athletic Performance Coordinator.
